Other Notes

Small volumes of CSN2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS049299 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Casein Beta (CSN2) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CSN2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS049299 kit is based on CSN2 antibody-CSN2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CSN2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CSN2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CSN2

This gene encodes the beta subunit of casein kinase II, a ubiquitous protein kinase which regulates metabolic pathways, signal transduction, transcription, translation, and replication. The enzyme is composed of three subunits, alpha, alpha prime and beta, which form a tetrameric holoenzyme. The alpha and alpha prime subunits are catalytic, while the beta subunit serves regulatory functions. The enzyme localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and the Golgi apparatus. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2013]

UniProt Comments for CSN2

CK2B: a regulatory subunit of the casein kinase 2 holoenzyme. Exists as a tetramer composed of two catalytic subunits, alpha and alpha-prime, and two regulatory beta subunits. The beta subunits undergo autophosphorylation. Plays a complex role in regulating the basal catalytic activity of the alpha subunit. Participates in Wnt signaling

Protein type: Protein kinase, regulatory subunit

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6p21.3

Cellular Component: cytoplasm; plasma membrane; protein kinase CK2 complex; PcG protein complex; nucleus; cytosol

Molecular Function: identical protein binding; protein serine/threonine kinase activity; protein domain specific binding; protein binding; metal ion binding; protein kinase regulator activity; transcription factor binding; receptor binding

Biological Process: axon guidance; negative regulation of cell proliferation; positive regulation of activin receptor signaling pathway; Wnt receptor signaling pathway; cellular protein complex assembly; regulation of DNA binding; adiponectin-mediated signaling pathway; mitotic cell cycle; negative regulation of blood vessel endothelial cell migration; signal transduction; regulation of protein kinase activity; protein amino acid phosphorylation
