Product Name
Epsin2 (EPN2), Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
Epsin2 Antibody (N-term) Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Gene Name
KIAA1065
Product Synonym Names
Epsin-2; EPS-15-interacting protein 2; EPN2; KIAA1065
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the N-term region of human Epsin2. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
Epsin2 peptide (MBS9224624) is used for blocking the activity of Epsin2 antibody (MBS9208366)
Molecular Weight
36,729 Da
OMIM
607263
Cellular Location
Cytoplasm. Cytoplasmic vesicle, clathrin-coated vesicle. Note: In punctate structures throughout the cell, associated with clathrin-coated vesicles, and particularly concentrated in the region of the Golgi complex
Tissue Location
Highest expression is found in brain. Detected at lower levels in lung and liver.

Other Notes

Small volumes of EPN2 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for EPN2

This gene encodes a protein which interacts with clathrin and adaptor-related protein complex 2, alpha 1 subunit. The protein is found in a brain-derived clathrin-coated vesicle fraction and localizes to the peri-Golgi region and the cell periphery. The protein is thought to be involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis. Alternate splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
