CD34 Antibody – Mouse

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS1801495

CD34 is a highly glycosylated monomeric 111-115 kDa surface protein, which is present on many stem cell populations. It is a well established stem cell marker, though its expression on human hematopoietic stem cells is reversible. CD34 probably serves as a… More details

Western Blot (WB) of anti-CD34 antibody

Western blotting analysis of human CD34 using mouse monoclonal antibody QBEnd-10 on lysates of TF-1 cell line and HEK293T/17 cell line (CD34 non-expressing cell line; negative control) under non-reducing and reducing conditions. Nitrocellulose membrane was probed with 2 ug/ml of mouse anti-CD34 monoclonal antibody QBEnd-10 followed by IRDye800-conjugated anti-mouse IgG1 secondary antibody. A specific band was detected for CD34 protein at approximately 110 kDa.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CD34 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CD34

The protein encoded by this gene may play a role in the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or to stromal cells. This single-pass membrane protein is highly glycosylated and phosphorylated by protein kinase C. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. UniProt Comments for CD34

CD34: Possible adhesion molecule with a role in early hematopoiesis by mediating the attachment of stem cells to the bone marrow extracellular matrix or directly to stromal cells. Could act as a scaffold for the attachment of lineage specific glycans, allowing stem cells to bind to lectins expressed by stromal cells or other marrow components. Presents carbohydrate ligands to selectins. Selectively expressed on hematopoietic progenitor cells and the small vessel endothelium of a variety of tissues. Belongs to the CD34 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.
