CD164 ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS1756441

Background: Sialomucin core protein 24 also known as endolyn or CD164, is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CD164 gene. CD164 functions as a cell adhesion molecule. This gene is mapped to 6q21. The encoded protein also interacts with the C-X-C… More details

MBS1756441 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the CD164, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CD164. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS1756441 kit is based on CD164 antibody-CD164 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CD164 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CD164. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CD164

This gene encodes a transmembrane sialomucin and cell adhesion molecule that regulates the proliferation, adhesion and migration of hematopoietic progenitor cells. The encoded protein also interacts with the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 and may regulate muscle development. Elevated expression of this gene has been observed in human patients with Sezary syndrome, a type of blood cancer, and a mutation in this gene may be associated with impaired hearing. UniProt Comments for CD164

Sialomucin that may play a key role in hematopoiesis by facilitating the adhesion of CD34+ cells to the stroma and by negatively regulating CD34+CD38(lo/-) cell proliferation. Modulates the migration of umbilical cord blood CD133+ cells and this is mediated through the CXCL12/CXCR4 axis. May play an important role in prostate cancer metastasis and the infiltration of bone marrow by cancer cells. Promotes myogenesis by enhancing CXCR4-dependent cell motility. Positively regulates myoblast migration and promotes myoblast fusion into myotubes ().
