Other Notes

Small volumes of CXCL1 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS175991 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the CXCL1, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing CXCL1. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS175991 kit is based on CXCL1 antibody-CXCL1 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect CXCL1 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, CXCL1. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for CXCL1

This antimicrobial gene encodes a member of the CXC subfamily of chemokines. The encoded protein is a secreted growth factor that signals through the G-protein coupled receptor, CXC receptor 2. This protein plays a role in inflammation and as a chemoattractant for neutrophils. Aberrant expression of this protein is associated with the growth and progression of certain tumors. A naturally occurring processed form of this protein has increased chemotactic activity. Alternate splicing results in coding and non-coding variants of this gene. A pseudogene of this gene is found on chromosome 4. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]

UniProt Comments for CXCL1

CXCL1: Has chemotactic activity for neutrophils. May play a role in inflammation and exerts its effects on endothelial cells in an autocrine fashion. In vitro, the processed forms GRO- alpha(4-73), GRO-alpha(5-73) and GRO-alpha(6-73) show a 30-fold higher chemotactic activity. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q21

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: growth factor activity; chemokine activity; CXCR chemokine receptor binding; enzyme activator activity; receptor binding

Biological Process: positive regulation of catalytic activity; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell proliferation; negative regulation of cell proliferation; nervous system development; positive regulation of leukocyte chemotaxis; response to lipopolysaccharide; immune response; actin cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; signal transduction; chemotaxis; inflammatory response
