FITC Kit

Description: FITC Labeling Kit (Optimized for samples with molecular weight of 6 KD to 20 KD) is designed for preparing FITC conjugates directly from proteins, peptides, and other ligands that contain a free amino group.
Background: Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) is a derivative of  fluorescein used in wide-ranging applications including flow cytometry. FITC is the original fluorescein molecule functionalized with an isothiocyanate reactive group (-N=C=S), replacing a hydrogen atom on the bottom ring of the structure. This derivative is reactive towards nucleophiles including amine and sulfhydryl groups on proteins. FITC has excitation and emission spectrum peak wavelengths of approximately 492nm/520nm, giving it a green color.

Small volumes of FITC kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
