Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-CD59a antibody

Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD59a expression on BABL/c bone marrow erythroid cells. Cells were stained with purified anti-Mouse CD59a, then a FITC-conjugated second step antibody. The fluorescence histograms were derived from gated events with the forward and side light-scatter characteristics of erythroid cells.

UniProt Comments for CD59a

Function: Plays a role in B-cell proliferation and differentiation.

Subunit structure: Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Associates with CD5. Interacts (tyrosine phosphorylated) with PTPN6/SHP-1. Ref.4

Subcellular location: Membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein.

Tissue specificity: Pre-B-cells and B-cells but not terminally differentiated plasma cells.

Post-translational modification: Phosphorylated upon engagement of the B-cell receptor, probably by LYN or SYK. Phosphorylation at Tyr-7 is important for interaction with PTPN6/SHP-1. Ref.4

Sequence similarities: Contains 1 C-type lectin domain.
