Other Notes

Small volumes of ACE2 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS177401 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the ACE2, ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing ACE2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS177401 kit is based on ACE2 antibody-ACE2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect ACE2 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, ACE2. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

UniProt Comments for ACE2

ACE2: Carboxypeptidase which converts angiotensin I to angiotensin 1-9, a peptide of unknown function, and angiotensin II to angiotensin 1-7, a vasodilator. Also able to hydrolyze apelin- 13 and dynorphin-13 with high efficiency. May be an important regulator of heart function. In case of human coronaviruses SARS and HCoV-NL63 infections, serve as functional receptor for the spike glycoprotein of both coronaviruses. Interacts with ITGB1. Interacts with SARS-CoV and HCoV- NL63 spike glycoprotein. Up-regulated in failing heart. Expressed in endothelial cells from small and large arteries, and in arterial smooth muscle cells. Expressed in lung alveolar epithelial cells, enterocytes of the small intestine, Leydig cells and Sertoli cells. Expressed in heart, kidney, testis, and gastrointestinal system. Activated by chloride and fluoride, but not bromide. Inhibited by MLN-4760, cFP_Leu, and EDTA, but not by the ACE inhibitors linosipril, captopril and enalaprilat. Belongs to the peptidase M2 family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: EC 3.4.17.23; Protease; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: extracellular space; cell surface; membrane; cytoplasm; integral to membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane

Molecular Function: viral receptor activity; peptidase activity; peptidyl-dipeptidase activity; hydrolase activity; metallopeptidase activity; carboxypeptidase activity; metal ion binding; endopeptidase activity; glycoprotein binding
