Nerve Growth Factor (NGF) ELISA Kit for Human

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS283264

Principle of the Assay: This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate NGF in samples. An antibody specific for NGF has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyNGF present is bound by the… More details

Other Notes

Small volumes of NGF elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

MBS283264 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip-or-full plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Nerve growth factor (NGF) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing NGF. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS283264 kit is based on NGF antibody-NGF antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect NGF antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, NGF. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for NGF

This gene is a member of the NGF-beta family and encodes a secreted protein which homodimerizes and is incorporated into a larger complex. This protein has nerve growth stimulating activity and the complex is involved in the regulation of growth and the differentiation of sympathetic and certain sensory neurons. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy, type 5 (HSAN5), and dysregulation of this gene's expression is associated with allergic rhinitis. UniProt Comments for NGF

NGF: Nerve growth factor is important for the development and maintenance of the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems. Extracellular ligand for the NTRK1 and NGFR receptors, activates cellular signaling cascades through those receptor tyrosine kinase to regulate neuronal proliferation, differentiation and survival. Homodimer. Belongs to the NGF-beta family.
