Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
Platelet Factor 4 (PF4), ELISA Kit
Full Product Name
Sheep Platelet Factor 4 ELISA Kit
Product Gene Name
Species Reactivity
Sheep
Assay Type
Quantitative Competitive
Samples
Serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants, body fluid and tissue homogenate
Sensitivity
1.0 pg/mL
Specificity
This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of PF4. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between PF4 and analogues was observed. NOTE: Limited by current skills and knowledge, it is impossible for us to complete the cross-reactivity detection between PF4 and all the analogues, therefore, cross reaction may still exist in some cases.
Preparation and Storage
Store all reagents at 2-8 degree C.
Molecular Weight
10,845 Da
OMIM
173460
Sample Preparation
We suggest pre-experimenting with neat (undiluted) samples, 1:2 or 1:4 dilutions. Please avoid diluting your samples more than 1:10 as it would exceed the dilution limit set for this kit. If the expected concentration of the target is beyond the detection range of the kit, please contact our technical support team

Other Notes

Small volumes of PF4 elisa kit vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

Searchable Terms for PF4 purchase

MBS740037 is a ready-to-use microwell, strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit for analyzing the presence of the Platelet Factor 4 (PF4) ELISA Kit target analytes in biological samples. The concentration gradients of the kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical kit detection range in biological research samples containing PF4. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the MBS740037 kit is based on PF4 antibody-PF4 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect PF4 antigen targets in samples. The ELISA Kit is designed to detect native, not recombinant, PF4. Appropriate sample types may include undiluted body fluids and/or tissue homogenates, secretions. Quality control assays assessing reproducibility identified the intra-assay CV (%) and inter-assay CV(%).

NCBI Summary for PF4

This gene encodes a member of the CXC chemokine family. This chemokine is released from the alpha granules of activated platelets in the form of a homotetramer which has high affinity for heparin and is involved in platelet aggregation. This protein is chemotactic for numerous other cell type and also functions as an inhibitor of hematopoiesis, angiogenesis and T-cell function. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2012]

UniProt Comments for PF4

PF4: Released during platelet aggregation. Neutralizes the anticoagulant effect of heparin because it binds more strongly to heparin than to the chondroitin-4-sulfate chains of the carrier molecule. Chemotactic for neutrophils and monocytes. Inhibits endothelial cell proliferation, the short form is a more potent inhibitor than the longer form. Belongs to the intercrine alpha (chemokine CxC) family.

Protein type: Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide; Apoptosis; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Chemokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 4q12-q21

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: heparin binding; CXCR3 chemokine receptor binding; chemokine activity

Biological Process: negative regulation of cytolysis; platelet activation; cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; leukocyte chemotaxis; response to lipopolysaccharide; positive regulation of leukocyte chemotaxis; positive regulation of cAMP metabolic process; positive regulation of tumor necrosis factor production; negative regulation of megakaryocyte differentiation; regulation of cell proliferation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; negative regulation of angiogenesis; platelet degranulation; negative regulation of MHC class II biosynthetic process; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; immune response; blood coagulation; inflammatory response; positive regulation of macrophage differentiation
