Western Blot (WB) of anti-BCAN antibody

Western Blot analysis in CEM cell line lysates (35ug/lane) usingMBS642278. This demonstrates that MBS642278 detected the BCAN protein (arrow).

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-BCAN antibody

Immunohistochemistry analysis in formalin fixed and paraffin embedded human brain tissue using MBS642278 followed by peroxidase conjugation of the secondary antibody and DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of MBS642278 for immunohistochemistry.

NCBI Summary for BCAN

This gene encodes a member of the lectican family of chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans that is specifically expressed in the central nervous system. This protein is developmentally regulated and may function in the formation of the brain extracellular matrix. This protein is highly expressed in gliomas and may promote the growth and cell motility of brain tumor cells. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
