Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) of anti-Bid antibody

Figure 1. Flow Cytometry analysis of K562 cells using anti-Human Bid antibody.
Overlay histogram showing K562 cells stained with A00730-Dyl488 (Blue line). The cells were blocked with 10% normal goat serum. And then incubated with rabbit anti-Human Bid Antibody for 30 min at 20 degree C. DyLight® 488 conjugated goat anti-rabbit IgG (5-10ug/1x106 cells) was used as secondary antibody for 30 minutes at 20 degree C. Isotype control antibody (Green line) was rabbit IgG (1ug/1x106) used under the same conditions. Unlabelled sample (Red line) was also used as a control.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Bid antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for Bid

This gene encodes a death agonist that heterodimerizes with either agonist BAX or antagonist BCL2. The encoded protein is a member of the BCL-2 family of cell death regulators. It is a mediator of mitochondrial damage induced by caspase-8 (CASP8); CASP8 cleaves this encoded protein, and the COOH-terminal part translocates to mitochondria where it triggers cytochrome c release. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been defined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for Bid

The major proteolytic product p15 BID allows the release of cytochrome c (). Isoform 1, isoform 2 and isoform 4 induce ICE-like proteases and apoptosis. Isoform 3 does not induce apoptosis. Counters the protective effect of Bcl-2.
