CCAR1 Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS3901013

CCAR1 was identified as a perinuclear phosphoprotein that regulates apoptosis signals in response to chemotherapeutic agents. Induction of apoptosis by CCAR1 involves the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway and… More details

UniProt Comments for CCAR1

CCAR1: Associates with components of the Mediator and p160 coactivator complexes that play a role as intermediaries transducing regulatory signals from upstream transcriptional activator proteins to basal transcription machinery at the core promoter. Recruited to endogenous nuclear receptor target genes in response to the appropriate hormone. Also functions as a p53 coactivator. May thus play an important role in transcriptional regulation. May be involved in apoptosis signaling in the presence of the reinoid CD437. Apoptosis induction involves sequestration of 14-3-3 protein(s) and mediated altered expression of multiple cell cycle regulatory genes including MYC, CCNB1 and CDKN1A. Plays a role in cell cycle progression and/or cell proliferation. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: Nuclear receptor co-regulator; RNA splicing; Apoptosis

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 10q21.3

Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; perinuclear region of cytoplasm

Molecular Function: protein binding; ligand-dependent nuclear receptor transcription coactivator activity

Biological Process: nuclear mRNA splicing, via spliceosome; transcription, DNA-dependent; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; apoptosis; RNA splicing; gene expression; cell cycle
