Product Categories/Family for anti-IL-28A antibody

Applications Tested/Suitable for anti-IL-28A antibody
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Paraffin, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB)
Application Notes for anti-IL-28A antibody
IHC-P: This antibody stained formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections of normal human skin. The recommended concentration is 1mg/ml overnight at 4 degree C. An alkaline phosphatase-labeled polymer detection system was used with a non-alcohol soluble red chromogen and proteinase K antigen retrieval.
ELISA: To detect Human IFNL2 by sandwich ELISA (using 100ul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5-2ug/ml of this antibody is required.
WB: To detect Human IFNL2 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1-0.2ug/ml. When used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant Human IFNL2 is 1.5-3ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-IL-28A antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for IL-28A

This gene encodes a cytokine distantly related to type I interferons and the IL-10 family. This gene, interleukin 28B (IL28B), and interleukin 29 (IL29) are three closely related cytokine genes that form a cytokine gene cluster on a chromosomal region mapped to 19q13. Expression of the cytokines encoded by the three genes can be induced by viral infection. All three cytokines have been shown to interact with a heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor that consists of interleukin 10 receptor, beta (IL10RB) and interleukin 28 receptor, alpha (IL28RA). UniProt Comments for IL-28A

IL28A: Cytokine with immunomodulatory activity. Up-regulates MHC class I antigen expression. Displays potent antiviral activity. Also displays antitumor activity. Ligand for the heterodimeric class II cytokine receptor composed of IL10RB and IL28RA. The ligand/receptor complex seems to signal through the Jak-STAT pathway. Belongs to the IL-28/IL-29 family.

Protein type: Secreted, signal peptide; Secreted; Cytokine

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 19q13.13
