Application Notes for anti-MCP-3 antibody
Sandwich ELISA: To detect hMCP-3 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 mul/well antibody solution) a concentration of 0.5 - 2.0 mug/ml of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with Biotinylated Anti-Human MCP-3 as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2 - 0.4 ng/well of recombinant hMCP-3.

Western Blot: To detect hMCP-3 by Western Blot analysis this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1- 0.2 ug/ml. Used in conjunction with compatible secondary reagents the detection limit for recombinant hMCP-3 is 1.5-3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-MCP-3 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for MCP-3

This gene encodes monocyte chemotactic protein 3, a secreted chemokine which attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It is a member of the C-C subfamily of chemokines which are characterized by having two adjacent cysteine residues. The protein is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2, an enzyme which degrades components of the extracellular matrix. This gene is part of a cluster of C-C chemokine family members on chromosome 17q. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for MCP-3

CCL7: Chemotactic factor that attracts monocytes and eosinophils, but not neutrophils. Augments monocyte anti-tumor activity. Also induces the release of gelatinase B. This protein can bind heparin. Binds to CCR1, CCR2 and CCR3. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Secreted; Secreted, signal peptide

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q11.2-q12

Cellular Component: extracellular space; extracellular region

Molecular Function: heparin binding; CCR1 chemokine receptor binding; chemokine activity; CCR2 chemokine receptor binding

Biological Process: cellular calcium ion homeostasis; regulation of cell shape; monocyte chemotaxis; cell-cell signaling; eosinophil chemotaxis; response to gamma radiation; cytoskeleton organization and biogenesis; immune response; chemotaxis; signal transduction; inflammatory response; positive regulation of cell migration
