Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-NOM1 antibody
WB: 1:10,000-1:25,000
IP: 6ug/mg lysate

Immunoprecipitation (IP) of anti-NOM1 antibody

Detection of human NOM1 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HEK293T cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NOM1 antibody (MBS3905941 lot 1) used for IP at 1 ug per reaction. NOM1 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-NOM1 antibody BL23695. For blotting immunoprecipitated NOM1, MBS3905941 was used at 0.04 mg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 10 seconds.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-NOM1 antibody

Detection of human NOM1 by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 ug) from HEK293T, RKO, and K-562 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-NOM1 antibody (MBS3905941 lot 1) used for WB at 0.04 mg/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

NCBI Summary for NOM1

Proteins that contain MIF4G (middle of eIF4G (MIM 600495)) and/or MA3 domains, such as NOM1, function in protein translation. These domains include binding sites for members of the EIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD box RNA helicases (see EIF4A1; MIM 602641) (Simmons et al., 2005 [PubMed 15715967]).[supplied by OMIM, Mar 2008]

UniProt Comments for NOM1

NOM1: a nucleolar protein that binds eIF4A and encoded within the chromosome 7q36 breakpoint region associated with pediatric acute myeloid leukemia. Contains an MIF4G and an MA3 domain. MIF4G and MA3 domains bind proteins of the eIF4A family of ATP-dependent DEAD-box RNA helicases required for both translation and nonsense-mediated decay. MIF4G domains are found in several proteins involved in RNA metabolism, including eIF4G, eIF-2b, UPF2, and nuclear cap-binding proteins.

Protein type: Unknown function; Nucleolus
