Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-TG2 antibody
IP: 6ug/mg lysate

Immunoprecipitation (IP) of anti-TG2 antibody

Detection of human TG2 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (1 mg for IP; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-TG2 antibody MBS3904428 (lot MBS3904428-1) used for IP at 6 ug/mg lysate. TG2 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-TG2 antibody MBS3904429. For blotting immunoprecipitated TG2, MBS3904429 was used at 0.1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-TG2 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for TG2

Transglutaminases are enzymes that catalyze the crosslinking of proteins by epsilon-gamma glutamyl lysine isopeptide bonds. While the primary structure of transglutaminases is not conserved, they all have the same amino acid sequence at their active sites and their activity is calcium-dependent. The protein encoded by this gene acts as a monomer, is induced by retinoic acid, and appears to be involved in apoptosis. Finally, the encoded protein is the autoantigen implicated in celiac disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for TG2

TGM2: an enzyme of the transglutaminase family that catalyzes the crosslinking of proteins and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins. While the primary structure of transglutaminases is not conserved, they all have the same amino acid sequence at their active sites and their activity is calcium-dependent. The protein encoded by this gene acts as a monomer, is induced by retinoic acid, and appears to be involved in apoptosis. . Is the autoantigen in coeliac disease and plays a role in apoptosis, cellular differentiation and matrix stabilisation. Three alternatively spliced isoforms have been described.
