USP16 Antibody – Rabbit Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS3902092

Ubiquitin (Ub) is a highly conserved protein found ubiquitously in eukaryotic organisms. The conjugation of ubiquitin to proteins is an important means to regulate protein activity for many cellular processes by tagging them for degradation. Removal of Ub can… More details

Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-USP16 antibody
IP: 6ug/mg lysate

Immunoprecipitation (IP) of anti-USP16 antibody

Detection of human USP16 by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-USP16 antibody MBS3902092 (lot MBS3902092-3) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. USP16 was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-USP16 antibody MBS3902091. For blotting immunoprecipitated USP16, MBS3902092 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

NCBI Summary for USP16

This gene encodes a deubiquitinating enzyme that is phosphorylated at the onset of mitosis and then dephosphorylated at the metaphase/anaphase transition. It can deubiquitinate H2A, one of two major ubiquitinated proteins of chromatin, in vitro and a mutant form of the protein was shown to block cell division. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
