Western Blot (WB), Immunoprecipitation (IP)
Application Notes for anti-BLM antibody
WB: 1:2000-1:10,000
IP: 6ug/mg lysate

Immunoprecipitation (IP) of anti-BLM antibody

Detection of mouse BLM by western blot of immunoprecipitates. Samples: Whole cell lysate (0.5 or 1.0 mg per IP reaction; 20% of IP loaded) from NIH 3T3 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-BLM antibody MBS3901131 (lot MBS3901131-2) used for IP at 6 ug per reaction. BLM was also immunoprecipitated by a previous lot of this antibody (lot MBS3901131-1) and rabbit anti-BLM antibody MBS3901130 For blotting immunoprecipitated BLM, MBS3901131 was used at 1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.
Rabbit Anti-BLM Polyclonal Antibody – Cat# MBS3901131

Western Blot (WB) of anti-BLM antibody

Detection of human and mouse BLM by western blot. Samples: Whole cell lysate (50 ug) from HeLa, HEK293T, and mouse NIH 3T3 cells prepared using NETN lysis buffer. Antibody: Affinity purified rabbit anti-BLM antibody MBS3901131 (lot MBS3901131-2) used for WB at 0.1 ug/ml. Detection: Chemiluminescence with an exposure time of 30 seconds.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-BLM antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for BLM

BLM: a magnesium-dependent ATP-dependent DNA-helicase that unwinds single- and double-stranded DNA in a 3'-5' direction. A member of the RecQ helicase family that is required for genome stability. Participates in DNA replication, recombination and repair. Part of the BRCA1-associated genome surveillance complex (BASC), which contains BRCA1, MSH2, MSH6, MLH1, ATM, BLM, PMS2 and the RAD50-MRE11-NBS1 protein complex which is a dynamic process changing throughout the cell cycle and within subnuclear domains. Interacts with ubiquitinated FANCD2.
