Application Notes for anti-SIRT5 antibody
IHC: 1:500
WB: 0.5ug/ml
Applications are based on unconjugated antibody.

Immunohistochemistry (IHC) of anti-SIRT5 antibody

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: Representative lot data. Paraffin-embedded convoluted tubules of normal rat kidney tissue (Fig 1 and 2) was prepared using heat-induced epitope retrieval in citrate buffer, pH 6.0. Immunostaining was performed using a 1:500 dilution of Sirt5. Reactivity was detected using the IHC-Select Detection Kit. Positive granular cutoplasmic staining was observed in convoluted tubules of normal rat kidney tissue.

Western Blot (WB) of anti-SIRT5 antibody

Western Blotting Analysis: Representative lot data. HeLa cell lysate was probed with Sirt5 (0.5ug/ml). Proteins were visualized using a Donkey Rabbit IgG secondary antibodies conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system. Arrow indicates Sirt5 (~34kD).

NCBI Summary for SIRT5

This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of proteins, homologs to the yeast Sir2 protein. Members of the sirtuin family are characterized by a sirtuin core domain and grouped into four classes. The functions of human sirtuins have not yet been determined; however, yeast sirtuin proteins are known to regulate epigenetic gene silencing and suppress recombination of rDNA. Studies suggest that the human sirtuins may function as intracellular regulatory proteins with mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase activity. The protein encoded by this gene is included in class III of the sirtuin family. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010]
