MEC (CCL28) Human Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS553304

The mucosa-associated epithelial chemokine CCL28 (mucosa-associated epithelial chemokine) is a common mucosal chemokine which is constitutively expressed by epithelial cells in most mucosal sites. Both CCL28 and CCL25 have recently been shown to be essential… More details

Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native human MEC/CCL28 has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 12 kDa.

Recombinant CCL28 is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of 109 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 12 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of CCL28 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CCL28

This antimicrobial gene belongs to the subfamily of small cytokine CC genes. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The CC cytokines are proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The cytokine encoded by this gene displays chemotactic activity for resting CD4 or CD8 T cells and eosinophils. The product of this gene binds to chemokine receptors CCR3 and CCR10. This chemokine may play a role in the physiology of extracutaneous epithelial tissues, including diverse mucosal organs. Multiple transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2014]
