Soluble CD4 (CD4) Mouse Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS553297

CD4 is a 55 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. In humans CD4 is expressed of peripheral T-cells, thymocytes, on macrophages and granulocytes. CD4 acts as a cellular adhesion molecule binding MHC class 2 molecules. It… More details

Host
HEk293 Cells (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant CD4 was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered solution in PBS, pH 7.4.
Purity/Purification
>90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
51,297 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P06332
Domain
IG
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse CD4 extracellular domain was expressed in HEK293 cells.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers
Molecular Weight Note
Mouse soluble CD4 is generated by the proteolytic removal of the extracellular domain
and propeptide, the molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 40 kDa. Recombinant mouse CD4 is a disulfide-linked monomer protein consisting of 380 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates due to glycosylation as an approximately 46 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of CD4 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for CD4

CD4: Accessory protein for MHC class-II antigen/T-cell receptor interaction. May regulate T-cell activation. Induces the aggregation of lipid rafts. Associates with LCK. Binds to HIV-1 gp120 and to P4HB/PDI and upon HIV-1 binding to the cell membrane, is part of P4HB/PDI- CD4-CXCR4-gp120 complex. Interacts with HIV-1 Envelope polyprotein gp160 and protein Vpu. Interacts with Human Herpes virus 7 capsid proteins. Interacts with PTK2/FAK1; this interaction requires the presence of HIV-1 gp120.
