SARS Virus Sn Antibody Blocking Peptide

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS9225880

S1 attaches the virion to the cell membrane by interacting with human ACE2 and CLEC4M/DC-SIGNR, initiating the infection. Binding to the receptor and internalization of the virus into the endosomes of the host cell probably induces conformational changes in… More details

Product Overview

Online Datasheet in PDF
Product Name
SARS Sn, Blocking Peptide
Full Product Name
SARS virus Sn Antibody Blocking Peptide
Product Gene Name
Product Synonym Names
Spike glycoprotein; S glycoprotein; E2; Peplomer protein; Spike protein S1; Spike protein S2; S
Form/Format
The synthetic peptide was lyophilized with 100% acetonitrile and is supplied as a powder. Reconstitute with 0.1 ml deionized water for a final concentration of 1 mg/ml.
Specificity
The synthetic peptide sequence used to generate the antibody was selected from the region of human SARS virus Sn. A 10 to 100 fold molar excess to antibody is recommended. Precise conditions should be optimized for a particular assay.
Preparation and Storage
Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 degree C for up to 6 months. For long term storage store at -20 degree C.
Antibody/Peptide Pairs
Molecular Weight
139,125 Da
Cellular Location
Virion membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Host endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Host cell membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note: Accumulates in the endoplasmic reticulum-Golgi intermediate compartment, where it participates in virus particle assembly (By similarity). Some S oligomers are transported to the plasma membrane, where they may mediate cell- cell fusion.

Other Notes

Small volumes of S blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
