pMXs-IRES-GFP Vector – Pmxs-IRES-GFP

Retroviruses are efficient tools for delivering heritable genes into the genome of dividing cells. pMXs-IRES-GFPretroviralvector (also known as pMXs-IG) is based on Moloneymurine leukemia virus (MMLV). The vector provides the viral package signal, transcription and processing elements, and MCS for cloning of a target gene. The viral envgene, produced by the package cell line, encodes the envelope protein, which determines the viral infectivity range. Transfection into a package cell line produces high-titer, replication-incompetent viruses. In addition to transfer and expression of exogenous genes in mammalian cells, recently, retroviruses have been used to express silencing RNAs (siRNA) to decrease the expression of target genes.

Small volumes of pMXs-IRES-GFP vector vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
