Lymphotactin (XCL1), Active Protein
Full Product Name
Lymphotactin, Recombinant, Human (Small Inducible Cytokine Subfamily C Member 1, SCYC1, Chemokine C Motif Ligand 1, Ltn)
Product Gene Name
Sequence
The sequence of the first five N-terminal amino acids was determined and was found to be Gln-Ser-Gl u-Val-Ser.
Host
Recombinant, human (E Coli)
Form/Format
Supplied as a lyophilized powder. No additives. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA to a concentration of 100ug/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Purity/Purification
Highly Purified
98% by RP-HPLC, FPLC, or reducing/non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stain. Chromatographically purified. Endotoxin: < 0.1ng/ug (IEU/ug)
Preparation and Storage
Lyophilized powder may be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Reconstitute to nominal volume by adding sterile ddH2O, 0.1% BSA or HSA, aliquot and store at -20 degree C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Biological Activity
Lymphotactin is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The Biological activity is calculated by its ability to chemoattract human T cells at 10.0-100.0ng/ml..
Protein Content
Protein quantitation was carried out by two independent methods:
1. UV spectroscopy at 280nm.
2. Analysis by RP-HPLC, using a calibrated solution of Lymphotactin as a Reference Standard.

Other Notes

Small volumes of XCL1 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for XCL1

This gene encodes a member of the chemokine superfamily. Chemokines function in inflammatory and immunological responses, inducing leukocyte migration and activation. The encoded protein is a member of the C-chemokine subfamily, retaining only two of four cysteines conserved in other chemokines, and is thought to be specifically chemotactic for T cells. This gene and a closely related family member are located on the long arm of chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq]
