UniProt Comments for ARHGAP20

ARHGAP20: GTPase activator for the Rho-type GTPases by converting them to an inactive GDP-bound state. A chromosomal aberration involving ARHGAP20 may be a cause of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL). Translocation t(X;11)(q21;q23) with BRWD3 does not result in fusion transcripts but disrupts both genes. 4 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.

Protein type: GAPs, Rac/Rho; Tumor suppressor; GAPs

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 11q23.1

Cellular Component: cytosol

Molecular Function: GTPase activator activity

Biological Process: regulation of small GTPase mediated signal transduction; small GTPase mediated signal transduction; positive regulation of GTPase activity
