EXODUS-2 Mouse Recombinant Protein

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS553153

Exodus-2, which is a member of the family of CC- Chemokines, has a unique 36 (murine) or 37 (human) amino acid carboxyl-terminal extension not seen in other chemokines. Exodus-2 selectively stimulates the chemotaxis of adult T-lymphocytes and is expressed… More details

Host
E Coli (Host protein expression may be lot-specific and can be subject to change during production, including bulk orders)
Form/Format
Recombinant mouse Exodus-2 was lyophilized from a 0.2 um filtered PBS solution.
Purity/Purification
>95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC
Preparation and Storage
The lyophilized protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20 degree C.
Upon reconstitution, this cytokine can be stored in working aliquots at 2 degree - 8 degree C for one month, or at -20 degree C for six months, with a carrier protein without detectable loss of activity.

Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Molecular Weight
14,558 Da
3D Structure
ModBase 3D Structure for P84444
Domain
IL8
Host Note
Optimized DNA sequence encoding Mouse Exodus-2 mature chain was expressed in Escherichia Coli.
Endotoxin
Endotoxin content was assayed using a LAL gel clot method.
Endotoxin level was found to be less than 0.1 ng/ug (1EU/ug).
Reconstitution
A quick spin of the vial followed by reconstitution in distilled water to a concentration not less than 0.1 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other buffers.
Molecular Weight Note
Native mouse Exodus-2 is generated by the proteolytic removal of the signal peptide
and propeptide, this molecule has a calculated molecular mass of approximately 12 kDa.

Recombinant mouse Exodus-2 is a disulfide-linked homodimeric protein consisting of 111 amino acid residue subunits, and migrates as an approximately 12 kDa protein under non-reducing and reducing conditions in SDS-PAGE.

Other Notes

Small volumes of Exodus-2 recombinant protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for Exodus-2

CCL21a: Inhibits hemopoiesis and stimulates chemotaxis. Chemotactic in vitro for thymocytes and activated T-cells, but not for B-cells, macrophages, or neutrophils. Potent mesangial cell chemoattractant. Shows preferential activity towards naive T- cells. May play a role in mediating homing of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs. Mice carrying an autosomal recessive mutation designated paucity of lymph node T-cells (plt) show dramatically reduced numbers of T-cells in lymph nodes, Peyer patches, and the white pulp of the spleen. Plt seems to correspond to Scya21b. Belongs to the intercrine beta (chemokine CC) family.

Protein type: Chemokine

Molecular Function: chemokine activity; chemokine receptor binding

Biological Process: lymph node development; induction of positive chemotaxis
