Active Protein Note
Protein activity can be an ambiguous term. Please refer to the data sheet or inquire with Technical Support to determine the definition of activity for this product.
Solubility/Reconstitution Instructions
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8 degree C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20 degree C to -80 degree C.
Endotoxin Level
< 0.1 ng/mug of protein (<1EU/mug).
Activity (Specifications/test method)
Determined by the dose dependent growth suppression of the human acute monocytic leukemia cell line, THP-1. sDLL-1 inhibits the proliferation in THP-1 cells using a concentration of 3.0-5.0 mug/ml.

Other Notes

Small volumes of DLL-1 active protein vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for DLL-1

DLL1 is a human homolog of the Notch Delta ligand and is a member of the delta/serrate/jagged family. It plays a role in mediating cell fate decisions during hematopoiesis. It may play a role in cell-to-cell communication. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for DLL-1

DLL1: Acts as a ligand for Notch receptors. Blocks the differentiation of progenitor cells into the B-cell lineage while promoting the emergence of a population of cells with the characteristics of a T-cell/NK-cell precursor. Interacts with Notch receptors. Expressed in heart and pancreas, with lower expression in brain and muscle and almost no expression in placenta, lung, liver and kidney.

Protein type: Cell development/differentiation; Motility/polarity/chemotaxis; Membrane protein, integral

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q27

Cellular Component: integral to plasma membrane; extracellular region; plasma membrane; cytoplasmic vesicle

Molecular Function: protein binding; calcium ion binding; Notch binding

Biological Process: regulation of cell adhesion; Notch signaling pathway; negative regulation of myeloid cell differentiation; negative regulation of interleukin-10 production; Notch receptor processing; cell fate determination; compartment specification; somite specification; cell-cell signaling; negative regulation of auditory receptor cell differentiation; hemopoiesis; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; heart looping; cell differentiation; determination of left/right symmetry; inner ear development; positive regulation of Notch signaling pathway
