Other Notes

Small volumes of BHLHA15 blocking peptide vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

UniProt Comments for BHLHA15

MIST1: Plays a role in controlling the transcriptional activity of MYOD1, ensuring that expanding myoblast populations remain undifferentiated. Repression may occur through muscle-specific E- box occupancy by homodimers. May also negatively regulate bHLH- mediated transcription through an N-terminal repressor domain. Serves as a key regulator of acinar cell function, stability, and identity. Also required for normal organelle localization in exocrine cells and for mitochondrial calcium ion transport. May function as a unique regulator of gene expression in several different embryonic and postnatal cell lineages. Binds to the E- box consensus sequence 5'-CANNTG-3'.

Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 7q21.3

Cellular Component: nucleus

Molecular Function: protein homodimerization activity

Biological Process: cellular response to glucose starvation; G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell-cell signaling; transcription, DNA-dependent; unfolded protein response; intracellular distribution of mitochondria; cell maturation; calcium-mediated signaling; positive regulation of transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; glucose homeostasis; mitochondrial calcium ion transport; Golgi organization and biogenesis
