CD122 Antibody – Rat Monoclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS2558224

CD122 is a 70-75 kD IL-2 receptor beta chain also known as IL-2Rbeta, which is also shared by the IL-15 receptor. It is constitutively expressed by NK cells and at lower levels by T cells, B cells, monocytes, and macrophages. The IL-2Rbeta chain can combine… More details

Application Notes for anti-CD122 antibody
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is <= 2 ug per 106 cells in 100 ul volume or 100 ul of whole blood. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-CD122 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for CD122

The interleukin 2 receptor is composed of alpha and beta subunits. The beta subunit encoded by this gene is very homologous to the human beta subunit and also shows structural similarity to other cytokine receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for CD122

IL2RB: Receptor for interleukin-2. This beta subunit is involved in receptor mediated endocytosis and transduces the mitogenic signals of IL2. Non-covalent dimer of an alpha and a beta subunit. IL2R exists in 3 different forms: a high affinity dimer, an intermediate affinity monomer (beta subunit), and a low affinity monomer (alpha subunit). The high and intermediate affinity forms also associate with a gamma subunit. Interacts with SHB upon interleukin stimulation. Interacts with HTLV-1 accessory protein p12I. Belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. Type 4 subfamily.

Protein type: Receptor, cytokine; Membrane protein, integral

Cellular Component: cell surface; external side of plasma membrane; integral to membrane; membrane

Molecular Function: hematopoietin/interferon-class (D200-domain) cytokine receptor activity; interleukin-2 binding; interleukin-2 receptor activity

Biological Process: cytokine and chemokine mediated signaling pathway; natural killer cell activation; negative regulation of apoptosis
