Cherry Antibody – Chicken Polyclonal

For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Catalog #: MBS6008405

mCherry is derived from proteins originally isolated from Cnidarians (jelly fish, sea anemones and corals), and is used as a fluorescent tracer in trasfection and transgenic experiments. The prototype for these fluorescent proteins is Green Fluorescent… More details

Testing Data of anti-Cherry antibody

Western Blot analysis of Hek293 cells transfected with MBS6008405, courtesy of the Semple-Rowland lab at the University of Florida. There is a strong clean band at about 30kD. Hek293 cells which were not transfected with this vector show no protein bands.

Testing Data of anti-Cherry antibody

HeK293 cells transfected in the same way and viewed in the confocal microscope. Most Hek293 cells are not transfected so only the nucleus of these cells can be visualized with a blue DNA stain. Cells which are transfected with Cherry are bright red. Staining with MBS6008405 is shown in Green. Green antibody staining is only seen cells which express Cherry, as expected, and the superimposition of the green and red results in an orange signal. Interestingly stronger Cherry staining is seen in the nucleus, possibly due to degradation of some Cherry molecules to release the low molecular weight Cherry fluorochrome.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-Cherry antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.
