Application Notes for anti-APOL4 antibody
Peptide ELISA: Antibody detection limit dilution 1: 8000.
Western Blot: Preliminary experiments gave an approx 50kDa band in Human Prostate lysates after 1ug/ml antibody staining. Please note that currently we cannot find an explanation in the literature for the band we observe given the calculated size of 38.7kDa according to NP_085146.2 and of 39.2kDa according to NP_663693.1. The 50kDa band was successfully blocked by incubation with the immunizing peptide.

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-APOL4 antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for APOL4

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the apolipoprotein L family and may play a role in lipid exchange and transport throughout the body, as well as in reverse cholesterol transport from peripheral cells to the liver. Two transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. Only one of the isoforms appears to be a secreted protein. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
