Application Notes for anti-MIRK antibody
WB: 1:2000-1:10,000
IP: 6ug/mg lysate

Western Blot (WB) of anti-MIRK antibody

Detection of human MIRK by western blot and immunoprecipitation. Samples: Whole cell lysate (5, 15 and 50 ug for WB; 1 mg for IP, 20% of IP loaded) from HeLa cells. Antibodies: Affinity purified rabbit anti-MIRK antibody MBS3902864 used for WB at 0.1 ug/ml (A) and 1 ug/ml (B) and used for IP at 10 ug/mg lysate. MIRK was also immunoprecipitated by rabbit anti-MIRK antibody BL8547, which recognizes a downstream epitope. Detection: Chemiluminescence with exposure times of 1 minute (A) and 30 seconds (B).

Other Notes

Small volumes of anti-MIRK antibody vial(s) may occasionally become entrapped in the seal of the product vial during shipment and storage. If necessary, briefly centrifuge the vial on a tabletop centrifuge to dislodge any liquid in the container`s cap. Certain products may require to ship with dry ice and additional dry ice fee may apply.

NCBI Summary for MIRK

DYRK1B is a member of the DYRK family of protein kinases. DYRK1B contains a bipartite nuclear localization signal and is found mainly in muscle and testis. The protein is proposed to be involved in the regulation of nuclear functions. Three isoforms of DYRK1B have been identified differing in the presence of two alternatively spliced exons within the catalytic domain. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

UniProt Comments for MIRK

DYRK1B: a dual-specificity protein kinase of the DYRK family. Localizes in the nucleus, where it enhances the transcriptional activity of TCF1/HNF1A. A co-activator of FKHR (FOXO1a)-dependent glucose-6-phosphatase gene expression. Induced by members of the Rho-family in myoblasts. Highest expression in skeletal muscle, testis, heart and brain with little expression in colon or lung. Expressed in a variety of tumor cell lines. Contains a bipartite nuclear targeting signal sequence. Three splice-variant isoforms have been described.
